Tuesday Teaching!
Stop trying to fit circles into squares…when something isn’t working or doesn’t feel right, let it go.
I cannot count the amount of times in my life when I tried to make something work that just wasn’t right….relationships, clothes, shoes, make up, etc. I have ideas about things or hopes and I want them to be good, to work, and I have more often than not thought I could just will things to be good or I have thoughts that I can control something and mold it to what I really want and I will be happy.
Of course this kind of thinking never works and I realize at some point I should have just let it go waaaaay before I did. I was taught this lesson again recently and it was a good reminder!
Over the last few months I have felt ready to start looking for a puppy, no dog will ever replace my Maggie but I have definitely been missing having another dog around, or a dog who considered me their person. Our dog Mia is great and I love her but my guy is her person and there is no mistaking that!
I have looked at and inquired about many dogs over the last few months, my goal was to get a rescue dog and in our area it can be a challenge…to say the least. I knew in my mind what I wanted in a new puppy, but because my puppy fever was taking over the longer the search went on I found myself compromising and feeling like I wouldn’t find what I wanted. We had a couple of occasions where we were really close to getting a puppy but it didn’t work out and now I know why!
We picked our girl up from the rescue league this weekend, and she is everything I have ever wanted!!! She is the sweetest girl; super snuggly and playful!
I am so happy I didn’t try to shove a circle into square like I have in the past….if I had we wouldn’t have ended up with our new love!!
Next time something just doesn’t feel right or it isn’t the right fit for you….let it go, something that was meant to happen will in its place and you will have something similar to the AHA moment I had over the weekend!
