Plant Based?? Maybe…..
This came out of left field…..much like this random post after several months of absence!
After canceling our Direct TV and making the switch to streaming TV, we have been watching things I am pretty sure we wouldn’t have otherwise.
Enter….. The Game Changers on Netflix. It was eye opening to say the least for me and my guy…..who LOVES all meat.
We watched it a couple of months ago and I am happy to report that the meat consumption in my house has decreased significantly.

Research Mode Engaged!
After watching the documentary, research commenced. I have read a lot about the pros and cons and I’ve read several articles and blogs debunking the documentary…..almost all from proponents of Keto lifestyles and diets.
This is a great website for beginners, and also has fantastic recipes!
Prior to watching the documentary, when I heard plant based I immediately thought vegan or vegetarian. This girl is not trying to be either. Yes, I still consume some meat, but it has been cut down drastically.
After watching the documentary and researching a bit. I have a better understanding and I have been easily able make some small changes to healthier eating habits.

The Why
Why did I entertain eating more plant based?
The health benefits are undeniable. I have made a lot of changes in my daily habits to be healthier over the last year. For me this is just another step in being healthier overall.
The other thing the documentary touches on is the effects on the environment. I firmly believe our planet cannot sustain the current level of meat consumption.
I know there are naysayers and people who think plant based is silly and there is nothing to be worried about in regard to the environment. To those people I say…..keep living in la la land and I’ll keep doing what I am doing and feeling good about it!
